Dannae Arnold, PT, DPT, ATP received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in December 2011.
Dr. Arnold is currently practicing as a research physical therapist under the mentorship of Dr. Chad Swank and Dr. Simon Driver at the Baylor Scott & White Research Institute in Dallas, TX, collaborating with an innovative team focusing on the advancement of research in the rehabilitation setting. She transitioned to this role in December 2021 with 10 years of experience treating the spinal cord injury population in the inpatient setting at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation.
Dr. Arnold acquired her Assistive Technology Professional certification through RESNA in 2016 and has undergone training for an advanced certification with Ekso Bionics. She has presented nationally on topics surrounding the advancement of rehabilitation interventions to improve outcomes following neurological injury and lectures annually at local DPT programs on these topics.
In her role as research physical therapist, Dr. Arnold is currently working on multiple funded projects, including two studies [90IFRE0043; Swank PI and DOD/CDMRP W81XWH2110922; Swank PI] examining the use of overground robotic exoskeletons with people with SCI and two studies exploring impact of vagus nerve stimulation on upper limb function in people with SCI (N66001-17-2-4011) and stroke (UH3NS109497).

Tim has worked with individuals with a variety of mobility disabilities for 12 years and attributes much of his life to giving them access to modern technology to aid in their independence.
Tim worked with Intel to create the first smart wheelchair, which was endorsed by Stephen Hawking and named the #1 IOT device of 2014.
Prior to Kalogon, Tim worked in the aerospace industry on high profile projects for SpaceX such as Falcon 9, Dragon Crew, and Starship.
Tim has a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Mark Scott is a highly skilled professional in the field of Complex Rehab Technology, with a strong background in education and management roles. With over 16 years of experience, Mark has collaborated with leading manufacturers in the industry.
Mark specializes in educating clinicians and assistive technology professionals on seating and positioning, as well as alternative drive controls for powered wheelchairs. He has made a significant impact in this field through his teaching, both domestically and internationally.
In addition to his expertise in Complex Rehab Technology, Mark holds a degree in Business Management from Texas A&M University, with a minor in Computer Information Systems. This combination of knowledge has enhanced his understanding of technology and its application in the healthcare industry.

James Holland II (known as “Jamie” to his clients and friends) has two decades of trial experience in railroad, trucking and traumatic brain injury cases. In spite of a very busy trial schedule and running his own law practice, Jamie has dedicated significant time mentoring lawyers and helping them learn the technology, techniques and skills to be successful in the courtroom. Jamie can be found coaching trial advocates, teaching CLE’s and has helped develop the format for the Florida Justice Association’s Al Cone Trial Advocacy College. This work led to him being twice honored by the Mickey Smiley award from the FJA young lawyers for his mentoring.
Successful lawyering depends on the power of persuasion. Before law school, Jamie pursued a career as a professional actor in Los Angeles after obtaining a Master of Fine Arts Degree from the University of Southern California. Following several appearances in the soap operas Santa Barbara and Young and the Restless, Jamie left his union cards with the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television and Radio Artist behind to put his persuasion skills to use in the courtroom. Jamie obtained his law degree from The University of Alabama.
Jamie received his Board Certification in Civil Trial Law in 2004 and is a frequent lecturer on trial advocacy and technology. He is actively serving on the Board of Governors for the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and the Florida Justice Association and was the former chair of the AAJ railroad law section. Jamie is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates. He has also been honored as “Nation’s Top One Percent” by National Association of Distinguished Counsel.
Jamie has also been recognized as a Top Rated Transportation and Maritime Attorney, receiving the Super Lawyers award since 2007.
Jamie is a proud father to his three daughters, Elizabeth, Caroline, and Catherine.
Bhaveen R. Jani, Esq. is a Shareholder and trial attorney in the Accident & Personal Injury Group at Stark & Stark. He focuses his practice in the areas of motor vehicle, tractor-trailer crashes, and premise liability matters which result in catastrophic spinal injuries and traumatic brain injuries.
Before joining Stark & Stark, Mr. Jani practiced at a personal injury firm and a large international firm in Princeton. He also has several years of experience as a defense attorney where he represented physicians, dentists, and hospitals in medical malpractice and other general liability matters. Combined, this has enabled Mr. Jani to effectively represent victims of personal injury because he can leverage his knowledge and experience as a defense attorney.
Before he earned his law degree from Villanova University, School of Law, Mr. Jani attended The George Washington University, School of Business in Washington D.C. At GW, Mr. Jani earned an undergraduate degree in Finance and International Business. Before attending law school, Mr. Jani worked at a large investment firm in New York City.
Mr. Jani has been a lifelong resident of New Jersey and is an active member of the bar and community. Bhaveen has served as President of the South Asian Bar Association of NJ (SABA-NJ) for two terms. Bhaveen was also appointed to a three-year term by the Supreme Court of New Jersey to the Committee on the Unauthorized Practice of Law. Bhaveen also serves on the Board of Governors for both the American Association for Justice (AAJ) and the New Jersey Association for Justice (NJAJ).
Diversity and inclusion are important to Bhaveen, both professionally and personally. Besides his work with SABA-NJ, Bhaveen also Chairs the Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee at Stark & Stark. Mr. Jani also serves on NJAJ’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Committee.
Dr. Jeter is currently the Director of Analytics and Software Engineering at Motus Nova, LLC, a medical device company specializing in the development of in-home stroke rehabilitation robotics. He obtained a Doctorate in Mathematics from Georgia State University, followed by a consequential postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the Emory University School of Medicine.
His professional trajectory has been defined by an unwavering commitment to utilizing his expertise in mathematics within the healthcare domain. Dr. Jeter has effectively navigated the intersection of these fields, combating critical challenges within the realms of critical care medicine and stroke rehabilitation. His dedication to leveraging mathematical principles to augment healthcare solutions stands as a testament to his passion for innovation and problem-solving. Dr. Jeter has authored 22 peer-reviewed publications on a variety of topics including Healthcare, Machine Learning, Dynamical Systems, and Mathematical Modeling.
Heakyung Kim, M.D., is Professor and Chair of the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and the Kimberly-Clark Distinguished Chair in Mobility Research at UT Southwestern Medical Center. She specializes in pediatric rehabilitation medicine, brain injury, cerebral palsy, and botulinum toxin injections for spasticity and drooling management.
Dr. Kim earned her medical degree at Ewha Womans University College of Medicine in Seoul, South Korea. She completed both her residency in rehabilitation and fellowship in neuroscience in rehabilitation medicine at Yonsei University Health System in Seoul. She later completed a combined residency in pediatrics and physical medicine and rehabilitation at Rutgers Biomedical and Health Sciences (RBHS) and Rutgers New Jersey Medical School.
Certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation in physiatry with subspecialties in pediatric rehabilitation medicine and brain injury medicine, she joined the UT Southwestern faculty in 2022.
Prior to joining UT Southwestern, Dr. Kim served as Vice Chair and A. David Gurewitsch Professor of Rehabilitation Medicine at Columbia University; Director of Pediatric Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital; and Chief of the Physiatry Department at Blythedale Children’s Hospital. She was the founding Director of the Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine Fellowship Program at Columbia and NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. She also served as Associate Director of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine in the Weinberg Family Cerebral Palsy Center at Columbia University.
Dr. Kim also previously worked at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she was Assistant Chief for the Division of Child Development, Rehabilitation and Metabolic Disease and Medical Director of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine and the Cerebral Palsy Program.
She is nationally and internationally regarded as an expert in pediatric rehabilitation medicine and serves on the World Health Organization’s committee for rehabilitation interventions for people with cerebral palsy. In addition, she is the Medical Director and Leader of the Rehabilitation Mission for the Children of China Pediatrics Foundation. Her research interests include cerebral palsy, especially spasticity and drooling management with botulinum toxin; robotic therapy; exercise for spastic muscles in children with cerebral palsy; and lifespan care for people with cerebral palsy, including sexuality.
Dr. Kim is Associate Editor at Large and Guest Editor of Special Cerebral Palsy Issues for Journal of Pediatric Rehabilitation Medicine and serves on the editorial board of Journal of Noninvasive Mechanical Ventilation.
A prolific and renowned presenter and author, Dr. Kim has published widely across peer-reviewed journals related to her areas of clinical interest. Her recent publications include contributions to Braddom's Rehabilitation Care: A Clinical Handbook and Pediatric Musculoskeletal Medicine.
Dr. Kim has been recognized as one of America’s Top Physicians since 2003. She is also a New York Times Super Doctor, named by Castle Connolly as among the Exceptional Women in Medicine, and listed by American Registry as the Best of the Best. She has received four Teacher of the Year awards.
Lindsey Sharpe, PT, DPT, ATP
LUCI Regional Director of Clinical Education
Lindsey is a Physical Therapist and an Assistive Technology Professional who works as the Regional Director of Clinical Education for LUCI. Lindsey is responsible for developing an education program consisting of clinical in-services, CEU courses, and various resources to help clinicians and ATPs ensure that power wheelchair users have access to technology needed to improve quality of life and enhance safety and independence.
Prior to this new role, Lindsey was a Regional Clinical Education Manager for Permobil where she participated in the creation of CEU courses, clinical in-services, and various resources for clinicians, ATPs, and end-users. In this role, Lindsey presented at various hospitals, clinics, and conferences across the United States including International Seating Symposium 2023. Lindsey trained other clinicians on wheeled mobility devices and the evaluation, prescription, fitting, training, and funding process to optimize the person-technology match and maximize client function and independence.
Previously, in clinical practice, Lindsey was first introduced to wheeled mobility during her time on the spinal cord injury team at University of Virginia’s acute rehab hospital where she discovered her interest in and passion for this niche in the therapy world. Lindsey opened a brand-new seating clinic with Carolinas Healthcare System in Concord, NC where she advanced her knowledge and skills in the prescription and training of custom wheelchairs and seating and positioning. She performed both inpatient and outpatient wheeled mobility evaluations for clients of all ages having a variety of diagnoses.
She graduated with a BA in Exercise and Sport Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2007 and with her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Elon University in 2010. Lindsey acquired her Assistive Technology Professional certification in 2020. She is currently a member of the APTA, the NCPTA, and RESNA. Lindsey is currently licensed as a Physical Therapist in the state of North Carolina where she resides.
Olga Volkov is a distinguished special education expert currently completing her PhD in Special Education, with a thesis focusing on Assistive Technology. She possesses notable experience in the employment of people with disabilities and has dedicated her career to assisting families and individuals in identifying the most suitable assistive technology solutions.
Mrs. Volkov also excels in teaching self-care and independence skills to those with disabilities. With a strong emphasis on assistive technology and Universal Design for Learning (UDL), she collaborates at Fulton County Schools to create and implement innovative professional development programs on assistive solutions, supporting students with IEP or 504 plans.
Certified in assistive technology, Olga provides invaluable training to educators, parents, and supportive personnel, emphasizing the adoption of inclusive learning experiences and individualized learning approaches. She frequently shares her insights as a speaker at conferences, advocating for inclusive education and effective assistive technology integration.
Dr. Catherine D. Wakeham is a Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation
and Brain Injury Medicine Specialist who has practiced medicine since
2009.
Dr. Wakeham is a licensed physician in the state of Texas, and she is
certified by the American Board of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation.
She is also a Certified Life Care Planner™ (CLCP™), as designated by
the International Commission on Health Care Certification.
Dr. Wakeham is the Founder and President of Geriatric PM&R, and her
professional career includes numerous medical directorships, and
clinical, academic, and hospital appointments at institutions including:
Burrell College of Medicine, Humana, Vibra Highlands Rehabilitation
Hospital, Baylor Scott & White, and multiple skilled nursing facilities.
Dr. Wakeham’s professional associations include the American
Academy of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, the American Academy
of Physician Life Care Planners, the American Spinal Injury
Association, the El Paso County Medical Society, the Gold Humanism
Honor Society, the International Brain Injury Association, the North
American Brain Injury Society, and the Texas Medical Association.
Dr. Wakeham earned a Doctor of Medicine from the University of
Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, and a Bachelor of Arts in
Economics from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville.
In addition to practicing clinical physiatry, Dr. Wakeham has
presented on topics including Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation,
Geriatric Rehabilitation, Polytrauma Rehabilitation, and Spinal Cord
Injury.
Gary Witt was appointed to the Missouri Court of Appeals Western District in January 2010, and retained in 2012. He was elected by his colleagues to serve a two-year term as Chief Judge in 2022. He served as an Associate Circuit Judge for Division V of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in Platte County, Missouri from 1998 to 2010.
Prior to becoming a Judge, he was a Shareholder with the law firm of Witt, Hicklin & Witt, P.C. in Platte City. He and his wife Angie live near Parkville, Missouri. His undergraduate degree is from William Jewell College and law degree from University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law. Elected to three terms as a State Representative, where he served as Chair of the Judiciary and Ethics Committee and Chaired the Special Committee on Impeachment.
He is a Fellow with The National Courts and Sciences Institute. He serves on the Board of the Missouri Institute for Justice. He is Past-President of the Missouri Association of Probate and Associate Circuit Judges and is Past-President of the Platte County Bar Association. In addition, he is Chair of the Legislative Committee of the Missouri Judicial Conference.
He is a frequent speaker to civic and school groups. He has served on the Board of the Platte County Historical Society (former Treasurer), Life Member of the MU Alumni Association. Presented with the Appellate Judicial Excellence Award by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Missouri - 2020.
